His Life to Date:

Jason Teale was born in Lahr, Germany in 1978. He grew up in the small Canadian prairie city of Brandon, Manitoba. He lived there until 1998 when he moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario to attend university.

Jason graduated from Lakehead University in 2003 with an Honours Bachelor of Outdoor Recreation, Parks and Tourism with a specialization in National Parks. The following year he obtained his second degree, a Bachelor of Arts in Geography.

Currently, he is teaching English in Ulsan, South Korea. Under the tutelage of some of the areas foreign photographers, he continues to develop his photographic technique and explore the many facets of this creative outlet.

While teaching and working on his photography, Jason is also on the board of editors and the Photography Editor for the city's only Foreigner produced English newspaper, The Ulsan Pear. In addition to writing and photography for the Ulsan Pear, he also submits articles for local papers in his hometown of Brandon, though most have not been printed yet.

In what little free time he does have, Jason studies the Korean Traditional martial art known as Kuk Sool Won. Closely related to Hapkido, this style is one of the country's few  martial arts that has not been brought over from China or Japan. He received his black belt in December 2005, something that few foreigner's in Korea have received, due to international regulations. He has also competed in the World Kuk Sool Won Championships that were held in Busan, South Korea in 2005. He is now preparing for his 2nd degree test and the 2007 Korea Championships.

In the beginning of 2007,  Jason became the official photographer for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League for Korea. This marks his first step into the realm of serious photojournalism.
