Moo Mini Cards!!

My Moo Minicards arrived!

A while ago, Griffin Stewart told me about these cards and how they would be a cool way to market yourself given the the fact that you can choose hundreds of your photos for the back of the cards. At that time, I had just printed up some snazzy plastic business cards and was pretty stoked to hand those out to people.

The cool thing about these Moo cards is the fact that you can simply add them from your FLICKR account and you do not have to upload any hi-res photos. I did my cards in a matter of a few minutes and just a few clicks. Getting the cards took only a few weeks but international postage was cheap. I also picked up a plastic holder that you see in the photo as well for about 5 bucks, which was a wise purchase.

Here is the breakdown for those wondering if the price is too high:

100 Moo Minicards: 19,200 won

1 Black plastic card holder: 5,000 won

Shipping to Korea: 4,300 won

Time from purchase to door 20 days

As you can tell, I am pretty stoked about these cards. The print quality is amazing and given the reaction so far, the design is great. the colors really pop and the unique design really grabs peoples attention. Again, I cannot stress the importance of having business cards in Korea. I have talked about it before but I will briefly bring it up again.

Korea is a business card based business culture. Anyone that you meet on a professional level, will have a business card. It is also expected when you meet some of a professional status that you exchange business cards. To give you a hint, when I won an award for a contest that I entered here in Ulsan, I was a the ceremony with a lot of important people like the Mayor, the CEO of the Kyungsang Ilbo Newspaper, the Chairman of the city, local YMCA officials, etc. They all greeted me with warmth and curiosity. However, when I pulled out my business cards, it was like we were trading baseball cards in middle school!

The plastic cards went over really well and I am sure that these new Moo Minicards will win them over. The point that I am making here is that in Korea exchanging business cards is like shaking hands, it is a custom that everyone does when they first meet. The cool thing about the Moo minicards is that you can also show off your work!

This is an awesome idea! Been wondering how to go about this as my co-teachers English isn’t great and it’s such a mission to try and get these things accomplished when you’re not on the ball as regards the local lingo. I’ll be mentioning this to the other foreign folk(as well as showing). Thanks for the idea 😉

Sadly, all the codes that I received with my cards have been given out but, I will see if I can find something on their site. I seems like Moo is always happy to give out a few discounts.
