On October 5th, 2024, I had the pleasure of hosting the annual Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk right here in Ulsan at the beautiful Taehwa River National Garden. This global event, started by Scott Kelby back in 2007, is now in its 17th year, bringing together photographers of all levels to explore their local areas through the lens of a camera. Since around 2008 or 2009, I’ve had the privilege of leading these photo walks in Ulsan, and it’s always been an incredible experience seeing the local photography community come together.
For those who may not know, the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk is a unique event where photographers gather in cities around the world to walk, shoot, and share their love for photography. It’s a fantastic way to meet fellow photographers, practice your skills, and capture the beauty of your surroundings.

This Year’s Walk: A Fantastic Turnout and Perfect Weather
This year’s walk at Taehwa River National Garden exceeded all expectations. We had a great turnout with photographers joining us from all over Ulsan, and some even made the trip from as far as Gimhae! It was amazing to see so many people excited to spend the day exploring and capturing one of Ulsan’s most picturesque locations.
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect—clear skies, mild temperatures, and a soft breeze that made for ideal shooting conditions. Whether it was capturing the reflection of the bridges over the river or the fall colors beginning to emerge in the garden, everyone seemed to find something inspiring. I saw everything from smartphones to DSLRs in action, and it was clear that everyone was in their element.

The energy was fantastic too. People shared tips, compared shots, and made new friends along the way. The sense of community at these events is what keeps me coming back year after year, and this one was no exception. Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or just starting out, there’s always something to learn, and it’s even better when you’re surrounded by people who share your passion.
A Heartfelt Thanks and See You Next Year!
I want to extend a big thank you to everyone who came out and made this year’s walk such a success. Your enthusiasm and creativity are what make these events so special. I truly enjoyed walking alongside you and seeing Ulsan through your eyes.

If you missed this year’s event, don’t worry! I’ll most likely be hosting another walk next year around the same time, so keep an eye out for updates. It’s always a great day of photography, fun, and community, and I hope to see even more of you next time.
Until then, keep shooting and exploring!

The area where Taehwagang National Garden now stands was once an industrial site and a polluted riverbank. Through massive ecological restoration efforts, it was transformed into a thriving, green space, making it a symbol of Ulsan’s environmental recovery. The photo were amazing and a river too. Loved to read your blog.

Thank you! I was here in Ulsan when the Taehwa River and the surrounding park was polluted and an eyesore. I love seeing what that area has been turned into. Thank you for reading my blog.
